David Vine, head coach of Leatherhead Swimming Club, has been selected as county team coach for the next two years.
He will coach the Surrey swimming team at the National County Team Championships in Sheffield in October 2017 and 2018.
David brings a lot of experience to the role, having been in Surrey coaching at Leatherhead SC for almost eight years.
During that time he has re-established the club as one of the strongest in the county.
“I have done this by establishing good team work and an excellent work ethic with high expectations for success,” said David.
“We have swimmers competing at all levels, including British Championships.”
David also has plenty of team-trip experience from his role at Leatherhead and previously with City of Cardiff SC, where he was involved with the county team in 2007.
“I feel I could bring my enthusiasm and motivation to help the team deliver at the county team championships,” he added.
As part of the England Programmes new county pathway, David will also be lead coach at a number of development camps over the next two years for 11-year olds.
The swimming age group sub-committee would like to thank Woking SC head coach Vince Ayling for his contribution as county team coach over the previous two years.
