The South East Region will be hosting a para-swimming development day at ACS Cobham on Sunday 1 June.
It is open to members of clubs affiliated to the South East Region, although swimmers from neighbouring regions will be accepted if there is space.
It is aimed at introducing athletes and coaches to the para-swimming pathway and identifying and progressing talented swimmers onto it.
The course will help develop the knowledge and skills of teachers and coaches to support the pathway and send consistent messages and progressive practices from regional training through to world-class programmes.
The development day is largely suitable for:
- Swimmers who regularly train and can swim 100m or more across multiple strokes (where impairment allows)
- Swim England ‘club compete’ registration holders with a classification, or are on the classification waiting list (S99)
- Swimmers with an eligible impairment who wish to compete and require a skills observation to begin the classification process
- Swimmers with a hearing-impaired classification (S15) or wish to begin the process of classification with GB Deaf Swimming Club
- Swimmers with ‘club train’ registration must hold ‘club compete’ to be placed on a classification waiting list
- Ideal progression opportunity for those who have graduated from the ‘Start Para-Swimming’ initiative
- Swimmers must be no younger than nine on December 31. Unsuitable for those on a world-class programme
To book a place fill in the online form here and pay the £10 fee.
