{"id":11752,"date":"2025-06-26T07:45:23","date_gmt":"2025-06-26T06:45:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/surreyswimming.org\/?p=11752"},"modified":"2025-11-19T04:55:16","modified_gmt":"2025-11-19T04:55:16","slug":"south-east-region-para-swimming-development-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/surreyswimming.org\/?p=11752","title":{"rendered":"South East Region para-swimming development day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The South East Region will be hosting a para-swimming development day at ACS Cobham on Sunday 12 October.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6495 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/surreyswimming.org\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/ParaSwimming-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" \/>It is open to members of clubs affiliated to the South East Region, although swimmers from neighbouring regions will be accepted if there is space.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The aim is to introduce athletes and coaches to the para-swimming pathway and identify and<\/span> progress<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> talented swimmers onto it.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">The course will help develop the knowledge and skills of teachers and coaches to support the pathway and send consistent messages and progressive practices from regional training through to world-class programmes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">The development day is largely suitable for:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Swimmers who regularly train and can swim 100m or more across multiple strokes (where impairment allows)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Swim England \u2018club compete\u2019 registration holders with a classification, or are on the classification waiting list (S99)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Swimmers with an eligible impairment who wish to compete and require a skills observation to begin the classification process<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Swimmers with a hearing-impaired classification (S15) or wish to begin the process of classification with GB Deaf Swimming Club<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Swimmers with &#8216;club train\u2019 registration must hold \u2018club compete\u2019 to be placed on a classification waiting list<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Ideal progression opportunity for those who have graduated from the \u2018Start Para-Swimming\u2019 initiative<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Swimmers must be no younger than nine on December 31.
