{"id":11680,"date":"2025-02-24T16:04:50","date_gmt":"2025-02-24T16:04:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/surreyswimming.org\/?p=11680"},"modified":"2025-11-13T19:38:35","modified_gmt":"2025-11-13T19:38:35","slug":"para-swimming-cpd-for-technical-officials","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/surreyswimming.org\/?p=11680","title":{"rendered":"Para-swimming CPD for technical officials"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>David Metcalf and Tony Ward will be hosting a para-swimming CPD for technical officials.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6495 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/surreyswimming.org\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/ParaSwimming-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" \/>The World Para Swimming (WPS) international technical officials will be hosting the online presentation via Zoom on Thursday 10th April, starting at 7pm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The course is aimed at providing technical officials (Judge Level 1 or above) with an introduction to officiating at events that include swimmers with a disability.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">It will cover the functional classification system, terminology and sport class overview and knowledge of WPS rules and rule exceptions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The course is free to attend and attracts three points towards the renewal of your official licence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">If you have already attended a similar para-officiating CPD since summer 2023, this is the same presentation and there is no need to attend again.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">To reserve a place complete the online form <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.swimming.org\/para-cpd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.
