Epsom District Swimming Club (EDSC) based in Surrey is looking for a Lead Squad Coach for their performance swimming team who is enthusiastic, passionate and well organised. The coach will lead their squad and link the development between senior performance swimmers and the development of our junior performance swimmers aged between 10 and 15 years old. The successful candidate will provide exceptional coaching and have the commitment, management, and communication skills to deliver the aims of EDSC.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"The club has approximately 150 swimmers in the competitive squads and is backed by a separate, large, vibrant swim school (Seahorses) with over 850 swimmers which helps provide a natural feed of talented juniors into the competitive squads. We offer lessons, coaching and competitive swimming for swimmers. Ages start from 3 \u00bd going through to masters. We are proud of our community spirit and inclusiveness, with swimmers ranging from youngsters in lessons, to performance athletes competing at county, regional and national levels. We also support masters\u2019 swimmers, triathletes and open water swimmers. EDSC is a strong and highly successful club and in recent years we have won numerous medals at Surrey Age Groups plus medal success at the Regional and English National level. We participate in the Arena Junior League and Arena League.<\/span><\/p>\n

We train at pools in and around Epsom.<\/span><\/p>\n

Reporting to the Head Coach, the squad lead performance coach will lead the delivery and integration of the development performance pathway and the assistant coaches within the club.<\/span><\/p>\n

Candidates should hold the Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate or ASA Level 2 Award.<\/span><\/p>\n

The successful candidate will:<\/span>
\n\u2022 Be enthusiastic and dynamic and love teaching our swimmers<\/span>
\n\u2022 Have strong technical coaching skills<\/span>
\n\u2022 Provide excellence in coaching through the recognised best practice (in line with the British Swimming OADF) that will improve performance outcomes for swimmers at all levels<\/span>
\n\u2022 Attend regular competitions in line with the calendar set out with the Head Coach<\/span>
\n\u2022 Be well organised via the planning and writing of training sessions for their squad, and working with the Head Coach towards Club goals.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Help mentor assistant coaches<\/span>
\n\u2022 Be able to work well with both our senior qualified Head Coach and other coaches<\/span>
\n\u2022 Have good communication skills with swimmers, parents, coaching team and committee members alike<\/span>
\n\u2022 Have strong communication and interpersonal skills; both written and verbal<\/span>
\n\u2022 Set high standards for themselves as well as demanding high standards of others at all times<\/span>
\n\u2022 Have the ability to inspire, motivate, develop and mentor young swimmers across squads, as well as the ability to build strong relationships with the team<\/span><\/p>\n

The role involves 10 hours per week as a squad coach plus attending meets\/galas in line with the competitions calendar. There are also opportunities for additional ad hoc coaching requirements, working with our Head Coach and other squads. EDSC is a SwimMark-accredited Club.<\/span><\/p>\n
