Woking Swimming Club is looking for an ambitious ‘performance orientated’ coach wishing to expand their career in swimming coaching with a club that has a great history with junior development to national and international level.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>This position would involve working with a coaching team lead by the head coach but with responsibility for the top squad. Most of our training facilities are around Woking and it\u2019s a great opportunity for a coach to establish themselves in the area. The role is also suitable for someone who is experienced and has a keen interest in competitive swimming.<\/span><\/p>\n

The job includes weekend and evening work with approximately 14-16 hours of coaching a week available, and there could be additional admin hours for the right candidate.<\/span><\/p>\n

Qualification and experience<\/strong><\/span>
\n\u2022 Preferably Level 3 ASA Coaching\/Swim England Swimming Head Coaching, or Level 2 coach will be considered<\/span>
\n\u2022 A number of years coaching competitive swimmers<\/span>
\n\u2022 DBS\/enhanced check<\/span>
\n\u2022 Qualifications in sport science, strength and conditioning or other sports training are preferable but not a necessity<\/span><\/p>\n

Candidate should have<\/strong><\/span>
\n\u2022 Great technical knowledge in all aspects of swimming training and development<\/span>
\n\u2022 Desire to coach competitive swimmers ranging from junior development to county level (ages 13-18 years)<\/span>
\n\u2022 Knowledge and understanding of competitive sport<\/span>
\n\u2022 A fun and enthusiastic attitude towards sporting activities<\/span>
\n\u2022 The ability to be fair and inclusive<\/span><\/p>\n

Roles<\/strong><\/span>
\n\u2022 Programme planning and implementation for the top squad, which is targeted at ‘training to train’ and ‘training to perform’ level swimmers<\/span>
\n\u2022 Overseeing the planning and delivery of training for the club’s top squad and competitive swimmers<\/span>
\n\u2022 Competition and gala team selection<\/span>
\n\u2022 Working with the head coach on programme structure<\/span>
\n\u2022 Be part of a strong, supportive team of coaches<\/span>
\n\u2022 Direct swimmers and parents to appropriate competitions in line with club competition schedule<\/span>
\n\u2022 Suitable IT skills to support potential admin hours related to squads<\/span>
\n\u2022 Motivate and encourage swimmers to improve and reach their potential<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\u2022 Excellent communication skills to engage coaches, swimmers, parents and committee members<\/span>
\n\u2022 Organisational skills<\/span>
\n\u2022 Ability to provide feedback in a timely manner<\/span>
\n\u2022 Good approach to professional development<\/span>
\n\u2022 Basic IT and social networking skills<\/span><\/p>\n
